Williamsburg About
the Inn and your hosts
The Black Badger Inn is the
newest Bed and Breakfast in Williamsburg and is the culmination of our hearts
desire. For many years we have cherished the idea of running a B&B. We searched for
the right place starting in our home state of Maine.
From York County, Maine to York
County, Virginia
[an error occurred while processing this directive]It was during a trip through Virginia that we
"stumbled" on this lovely house in one of our favorite places. With a little
effort we were able to purchase the property and begin a total redecorating of the house.
Our hope is to create a comfortable, home-style B&B with a unique flare in décor and
service. We want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible in an atmosphere of southern
hospitality and Yankee ingenuity.
Your Hosts
Derek and Rosalind have been married for almost 20 years
and enjoy a family life with two children, Alexis, a junior at Bates College, ME and
Jeremy-Ruth, a senior at York High School, ME. Our family has lived in Massachusetts,
Atlanta, Georgia and York, Maine. We have traveled extensively in Eastern United States
and Europe. Almost every year we make a trip to England where we tour the country and stay
at B&Bs.

Derek has a background in marketing and sales. He grew up
in the DC area but also lived in Hong Kong and Australia. His hobbies are tennis and golf,
and jogging.
Rosalind is an artist with a BFA from the Boston Museum
School. Her artistic endeavors are now in contemporary art quilts and has had shows and is
featured in art galleries in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. It was while living
in Georgia that she learned to quilt and started to make contemporary quilts. Click here to view some of Rosalind's contemporary quilts.
We are both very excited about the Black Badger Inn and
want to share with you our home and friendship. We have loved Williamsburg for a long
time, since visits we made when children, and want your vacation here to be fun filled and
relaxing. Please make the Inn your home away from home.
