If you consider the relative size of the eastern
Virginia peninsula, this area holds its own in comparison to other destination attractions
such as Orlando, FL, Savannah, GA, or Charleston, SC.
Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, are right around the
corner and King's Dominion (50 minutes away) are just a few of the "amusement"
attractions. And then there's Virginia Beach with the ocean, beaches, and sun!

Richmond is an easy 45 minute drive. Home of the
Atlanta Braves Triple A farm team, a great Fine Arts Museum, Children's Museum, and the
Museum of the Confederacy. There is also the Richmond Ballet, Opera, and lots of
cultural offerings.

Carter's Grove, and Yorktown. Route 5 is just dotted with historic plantations
(Shirley Plantation, Evelynton and Sherwood Forest Plantation to name a few).
